Just plain weird is right. How/when did you get home? And how are your new leather sneakers? (ok, I know I should have posted this comment on the other blog, but I figured since my comment isn't extremely library related . . .)
np.... I did indeed get home okay; it took a lot longer, since the fastest I drove was 65 and the slowest was 40 (and probably should have been driving even slower).
amazingly, my sneakers are not only fine--they are the most watertight shoes I've ever had! My feet were the only perfectly dry part of me, even after running through puddles/lakes.
I'm so relieved, particularly about the sneakers :-)
