You know you want to go read this entire week's arc in Unshelved. Just go. Now.
Unless, of course, the strip above made no sense at all. In which case, I pity you. Greatly. Here's some help.

I remember seeing these for the first time a few years ago at the Con over in Plano. My wife and I had stayed in a hotel near there as a mini-vacation. During breakfast, we were trying to pick out who in the hotel restaurant we'd being seeing at the Con in a few hours.
We spotted one couple later on in line to get Adam Baldwin's signature. They were wearing the hats. I thought those were the coolest thing ever!
Wow.
A comic strip about librarians, doing an entire week of Serenity/Firefly gags? Now that's obscure.
But since I got all the jokes, I also get to feel superior to anyone who doesn't.
Which is, of course, the point!
PS We gotta go to the crappy town where I'm a hero.
That week of strips is yet another in the long line of reasons why Dewey is my hero.
Now if you'll excuse me, I just remembered that I need to go buy the shiny new Collector's Edition of Serenity.
